Donald Cook

ELDORADO -- Donald Eugene Cook, 82, passed away Sunday, Jan. 8, 2017, in Saline Care Center in Harrisburg.

Don was born May 13, 1934, in Dixon to Lamon and Eva (Dearing) Cook, who preceded him in death. He married the former Lena Sue Long, who survives.

He retired from Continental Can in St. Louis. He and his wife pastored Locust Street Tabernacle in Eldorado for 15 years. Recently, he had attended River of Life Church in Harrisburg.

Don enjoyed woodworking and playing the saxophone.

In addition to his wife, survivors include five children, Carl Cook of Melrose Park, Robin Cook of Harrisburg, Wendell Wilson of Oklahoma, Richard McGehee of Eldorado and Bonnie (Jim) Herren of Harrisburg; sister, Bonnie (Jim) Kerr of Harrisburg; grandson, Phantom Cook of Melrose Park; great-granddaughter, Lilian Cook of North Lake; 10 stepgrandchildren; 10 great-stepgrandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, in Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado with Pastor Gentry and Pastor Boswell officiating. Burial will be in Lindale Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, at the funeral home.
