Dorothy Knight

MUDDY - Dorothy Jean (Stewart) Knight, 78, of Hawthorne, California, formerly of Muddy, passed away from Alzheimer's disease at 8:45 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15, 2016, in Vermont Care Center in Torrance, California.

She was born June 21, 1938, in Muddy, the daughter of Willie and Mildred (Dardeen) Stewart.

Mrs. Knight resided in the Los Angeles area off and on for over 50 years and retired from the automotive and accounting industries.

Survivors include her husband of 41 years, Larry of Hawthorne, California (they were married Dec. 6, 1975); son, Michael of Dallas, Texas; and sisters, Carolyn Hoh of Saint Francisville and Dolores Barnes of Muddy.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial service will be at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, in Watson Funeral Home in Eldorado with the Rev. Russell Helton officiating. Visitation will be from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Private family burial of cremains will be in Lindale Cemetery in Eldorado.
