Joann Shelton

<span>GALATIA -- Joann Shelton, 83, passed away Dec. 20, 2016, in Lake City, Michigan. </span>

<span>She was born in Franklin County to Claude and Theresa May (Curtis) Heflin. She married Mac Farland Shelton on Sept. 30, 1950.</span>

<span>Joann worked in real estate and was a home care worker for many years. </span>

<span>Survivors include her daughter, Theresa (Shelton) Courtade of Fife Lake, Michigan; son, Roger Wayne Shelton; three grandchildren, Michelle (Wellington) Schwipps of Columbus, Indiana, Daniel (Melissa) Wellington of Michigan and Dawn (Matt) Wellington Lyon of Michigan; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Brenda (Heflin) Bartley of Galatia; and two brothers, Charles (Shirley) Heflin and Calvin (Linda) Heflin.</span>

<span>She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Mac Farland Shelton; son, Terry Farland Shelton; brothers, Claude (Hardrock) Heflin, Fred Heflin and Wesley Heflin; and sisters, Ruth (Heflin) Flowers and Shirley (Heflin) Wallace. </span>

<span>Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, in Sloan Funeral Home in Galatia with the Rev. Daniel Wellington officiating. Burial will follow. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.</span>
