Ludene Treat, 77, Harrisburg

Ludene Treat, age 77 of Harrisburg, departed this life Saturday morning, January 16, 2016 at 10:43 am at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.

Ludene, daughter of Edward Murrie (Ed M) Trover and Lillian Lucille Thomas Trover was born June 17, 1938 near Ozark, Illinois.

Ludene is survived by: a brother, Tom Trover and wife Hattie of Tunnel Hill, Illinois; two daughters, Carol Vinson of Marion, Illinois and Susan Odum and husband Rick of Vienna, Illinois; four grandchildren, Ben McGill and wife Amy of Vienna, Illinois, Rachel Fike and husband Matt of Carlsbad, New Mexico, Dylan Robertson of Marion, Illinois and Gabe Vinson of Harrisburg, Illinois; five great-grandchildren, Arris and Aiden McGill of Vienna, Illinois, Renae and Mattie Fike of Carlsbad, New Mexico and Kaylee, and Gracelynn Vinson of Harrisburg, Illinois; and beloved nieces and nephews: Julie Trover, Cindy Sisk, Angela Stover, Alison Gardner, Christy Horn, Danny Tanner and Tracy Tanner.

In addition to her parents, Ludene was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Murrie (Junior) Trover, Jr. of Tunnel Hill.

Ludene was employed for many years at the Harrisburg Medical Center in Harrisburg, Illinois. Ludene was also well-known for her skills in cake decorating. In addition, she loved to take pictures especially, of friends and family.

Ludene lived an active and full life, and especially enjoyed visiting the Harrisburg Library where she checked out and read several books a month. She enjoyed visiting with friends and family and will be remembered and missed by many.

A time of visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 19th between the hours of 4 pm and 7 pm at the funeral home. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 20th at 10 am at the Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, Illinois. Interment will follow at Reynoldsburg Cemetery near Tunnel Hill, Illinois.

For those who would like to honor Ludene with a memorial, contributions may be made to either the Reynoldsburg Cemetery Fund or the Harrisburg Public Library District and mailed c/o Felty Funeral Home, 410 Oak Street, Carrier Mills, Illinois 62917. Memorial contribution envelopes will also be available at the funeral home.
