Alvy Basham, 83, Eldorado

Alvy J. Basham (Jim) 83 of Eldorado passed away Saturday January 16, 2016 at the Eldorado Rehab & Healthcare Center. He was born on April 9, 1932 in Saline Co to the late Joe & Faye (Gann) Basham. Alvy was a kind a benevolent man who shared his life with many people less fortunate than himself. He read his bible daily and kept up on worlds affairs. He was a former U.S. Marine and a former member of the Studebaker Driving Club. He loved animals and often bought food for stray cats and dogs. Alvy loved his nieces and nephews and the feeling was mutual.

Alvy is survived by his brother Joe Jr. (Sue) Basham and a sister Beulah Basham Glascock, several nieces & nephews & cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Al Basham February 18, 2013.

Funeral services will be Tuesday January 26, 2016 at 12 Noon at he Sloan Funeral Home in Galatia with visitation Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. till funeral hour of 12 noon. Rev. Jim Lambert will officiate with burial in the Raleigh Masonic Cemetery. Memorials to the Raleigh Masonic cemetery
