Authorities in southwestern Illinois are investigating an ATV crash that killed a 41-year-old Granite City man.

Authorities say Donald Enyart Sr. lost control of his ATV after passing another vehicle, veered off a road and struck a utility pole on Wednesday.

Illinois State Police officials say Enyart and his passenger both fell off the vehicle. Neither was wearing a helmet.

Enyart was later pronounced dead at St. Louis University Hospital. His passenger had only minor injuries.

State police investigators say they're looking into whether alcohol was a factor in the crash.
