OBITUARY: Wilma Jean Brown

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[Wilma Jean Brown, 85, of Johnston City, formerly of the Harco area, passed away at 7:40 p.m. Sunday, July 15, 2012, at the Carrier Mills Nursing Home.

Wilma was born Aug. 9, 1926, in Saline County to Wayne and Lottie (Edwards) Brown. She spent her early years of life working in California during WWII as a welder, then later returned to Southern Illinois to work at Norge until her retirement. She loved her rose and vegetable gardens.

Wilma is survived by two brothers, Earl (Bud) Brown of Hobart, Ind., and Roy (Dude) Brown of Harco; two sisters, Berdine Sanders of Galatia and Jane Rose Shuck of Lowell, Ind.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Betty Lou Duffee.

Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, July 19, 2012, at the Brushy Cemetery in Harco with the Rev. Kevin Peyton officiating. Sloan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
