The Illinois Liquor Control Commission has added a liquor license look up feature to its website.

The feature is part of Governor Pat Quinn's "Transparency Initiative" to make more information available online, according to a release from the ILCC.

By clicking the site www.state.il.us/lcc/tdq.asp anyone can check the status of a business's liquor license, the expiration date, address and owners.

There are almost 28,000 businesses licensed to sell liquor in Illinois, including almost 14,000 licensed bars, taverns, restaurants or liquor stores.

Users may search by business name, county, city, street name or number or zip code.
