Saline County Sheriff asks farmers to check property for thefts
<font face="TimesNewRomanPSMT, serif"><font size="3">Saline County Sheriff Keith Brown and the Sheriff's Office are urging area farmers to check for thefts in and around farm property.
The Saline County Sheriff's Office has taken several theft reports recently and has also discovered thefts that have yet to be reported, according to a sheriff's release.
"Currently, thieves are targeting areas near grain bins, namely the motors and power lines to the bins," said Sheriff Keith Brown.</font></font>

<font face="TimesNewRomanPSMT, serif"><font size="3">Thieves are taking the motors and stripping the copper from them and selling the copper to local scrap dealers, according to the release. Also, several power poles near farm operations have been cut down for the copper lines, in recent weeks.</font></font>
