Deputies investigate vehicle theft, vehicle burglary

Saline County Sheriff's Deputies are investigating the theft of a vehicle from the lot of Jim Hayes Inc. in Muddy.

At 11:31 a.m. Feb. 4 Rita Bean of the dealership reported at some point since 9 a.m. Feb. 1 someone stole a 2009 Dodge Challenger, according to a sheriff's report.

Sunday the department received a report the vehicle was in a residential neighborhood in Fairview Heights with the ignition "punched" and with Missouri dealer plates, Deputy Billy Duncan said.

Deputies are also investigating a vehicle burglary in Raleigh.

Larry Stuby reported Saturday morning someone overnight took cash and prescription medication from his unlock vehicle at 19 Jefferson St., according to a sheriff's report.
