41 Vendors and Nearly 80 Booths at Saturday's Du Quoin Home Show

The sixth annual Du Quoin Chamber of Commerce Home and Garden Show will be held this Saturday, April 18 in the Exhibition Hall at the Du Quoin State Fair Grounds, and this year it is only a one-day show. The door prize is a $300 voucher that can be spent with any vendor at the show. The show is all about the names you can trust in the home remodeling and construction industry. It's about people helping people with a huge discipline and attention to detail. Take for instance, one of the show's premier exhibitors, Haggard Custom Siding, Inc. of Du Quoin.

Owners Donnie and Sheila Haggard have been providing home remodeling services in Southern Illinois since 1979 when they moved to Du Quoin. They incorporated in 2003 and continue to give only the best of workmanship to the customers who appreciate a job well done.

Donnie and Sheila choose to purchase high quality American made materials for their customers' jobs . These materials are also from companies that donate a portion of their sales to the "Tough Enough to Wear Pink" breast research program and the "Homes For Our Troops" which has helped build homes for severely injured veterans.

Customers of Haggard Custom Siding Inc also get a guarantee to be completely satisfied with their home remodel and potential customers are encouraged to call any of the hundreds of satisfied customers that have benefited from the experience of a man that knows his job and knows it well. Donnie is extremely particular with his work and goes above and beyond to make sure the job is done properly and he won't cut corners.

You can rest assured that the company and all employees are fully insured as required by law to protect not only the company and their employees but more important, the customer. They provide written contracts, a lien waiver after the job is completed and a warranty on the materials they use and since they are considered "Elite Contractors", the siding warranty can be transferred to a new home owner if you sell your home.

If you are looking at remodeling one of the most important assets you own and want a quality job that will last, you won't be disappointed when you get a job completed by Haggard Custom Siding Inc of Du Quoin! Call 618-542-3439 and make an appointment to meet with them. You won't be disappointed.

The Haggards are one of 41 vendors who will staff a total of nearly 80 booths at the show.

The Du Quoin Garden Club's 49th Annual Plant Sale returns to the Home and Garden Show 2015. The Garden Club continues it's tradition of it's annual plant sale in Du Quoin at the Du Quoin State Fair Exhibition Hall, Saturday, April 18, 2015 from 8 am - 8 pm. The garden club was established in 1958 with the first plant sale being held in 1966 with the main objective of helping to make our community an attractive place to live. If you take a look at our community, you should notice all the hard work and dedication that it's 26 members accomplish throughout the year.

The Garden Club maintains the gardens and planters at the Du Quoin Post Office, Keyes City Park, Du Quoin Mini Park on Main Street, and the South 51 Welcome Sign. Club members assist the Du Quoin Tourism Committee each spring with planting the downtown planters. Members provide greenery and decorations to the planters for the holiday season. The Du Quoin Garden Club provides hanging baskets to the Fairview Nursing & Rehab Center and the Du Quoin Nursing & Rehab facility each spring, Poinsettias to Marshall Browning Hospital and the Du Quoin Public Library during the Christmas holiday season, as well as donations to benefit the needs of others.

Most of the plants from the annual plant sale come from the members gardens, so they are hardy to our area. Look for: Perennials, herbs, shrubs, grasses, bulbs, annuals and extra gardening items that may be of interest. This is the club's only fundraiser for the year. The amount made at the plant sale continues to go to it's main project of keeping our community's gardens colorful and pleasing to the eye.
