1. My name is Clarence Rice. My wife, Joanne, and I have lived in Harrisburg all our lives, having one son, Bill.

After spending three years in the Army, I worked at Dairy Brand dairy, then Joanne and I bought Juanita’s Cleaners from my in-laws and operated it for 40 years on Main Street.

My son Bill came into business with us and took it over in 2000 until his death in 2009. After Bill’s death I was appointed to his position as police and fire commissioner.  I hope to continue serving the people of Harrisburg.

2. I don’t believe that zoning is a big issue at this time.

3. I believe that people outside the city limits receiving police and fire protection should pay through taxes for that protection.

4. I can’t see anything but a great future for the city of Harrisburg. I believe we have everything in place for growth. With the help of a good city government, we can accomplish it.
