Gallatin has third COVID-19 case

GALLATIN COUNTY - Gallatin County has its third COVID-19 case, after Egyptian Health Department reported the case July 5.

The patient, a man in his 20s, is at home in isolation and doing well, according to an EHD news release.

That same day, EHD reported two new cases in White County, a man and a woman, both in their 20s. They also are in home isolation and doing well.

The total number of cases reported for Gallatin, White and Saline counties is three cases in Gallatin, eight cases in White and nine cases in Saline.

Two of the three Gallatin cases have recovered, four of the eight in White have recovered and all nine of the Saline County cases have recovered.

Elsewhere, two women, one in her 40s and one in her 50s, have tested positive in Williamson County and two Franklin County men in their 20s have had positive test results according to a news release from Franklin-Williamson Bi-County Health Department. There have been 135 cases in Williamson County and 37 cases in Franklin. Of those, 81 have recovered in Williamson and 16 have recovered in Franklin.

There have been four related deaths in Williamson County.

Jackson County reported one new COVID-19 case Monday, a woman in her 60s who acquired it from a known case. There have been 337 cases in Jackson County and 19 related deaths, with 298 released from treatment.

The total number of new cases reported Monday in Illinois was 587, the lowest number of daily new cases reported since June 22 when 462 were reported that day.

Illinois has 148,452 cases overall as of Monday afternoon, with 7,063 related deaths. Illinois estimates its recovery rate at 94 percent, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health.
