SOUTHERN ILLINOIS -- A semi tractor-trailer crash Saturday on Interstate 64 injured an Iowa man, according to Illinois State Police District 19.

According to an ISP report, Donald G. Drtina, 57, of Alburnett, Iowa, was driving a green 1998 Kenworth hauling a white 2008 Stought van trailer eastbound on I-64 in the right-hand lane near the 107 milepost.

A tree had fallen across both lanes, and Drtina was unable to stop before hitting the tree. Tree branches broke the windshield, injuring Drtina. He was taken to an area hospital for treatment of injuries that were not life-threatening.
