Congressman Bost will host COVID-19 teleconference Thursday

Congressman Mike Bost is inviting residents of the 12th congressional district to a teleconference about the coronavirus at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, April 9.

Dr. Josh Miksanek, medical director of the Emergency Department at SIH Herrin Hospital, will discuss the virus and answer questions.

"I know there is a lot of uncertainty and fear regarding the coronavirus (and) it can seem like the news is changing by the minute," Bost said in a news release. "I want to ensure that southern Illinoisans have the most up-to-date information about the health implications of the virus, as well as response and relief efforts in Congress."

To join the call, sign up on Bost's website, https://bost.house.gov/participate. Participating is free.

Last Thursday, Bost hosted a telephone town hall with more than 260 small businesses in southern Illinois to discuss the CARES Act and coronavirus economic relief.

Also on the line were expert guests from the Illinois Chamber of Commerce, the Illinois Small Business Development Center, and the House Small Business Committee.

For business owners who could not be on the call, but have questions about the relief options available, the House Small Business Committee has a guide. Find it here: https://republicans-smallbusiness.house.gov/covid-19/.
