Juvenile charged after shooting

A 17-year-old juvenile has been charged in connection with the shooting last weekend that left three injured on the northeast side.

Carbondale Police say the juvenile, who has not been identified, has been charged with unlawful use of weapons and aggravated discharge of a firearm. Two individuals who received life-threatening injuries are now expected to be released from the hospital after successful medical treatment. The third was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say that at 6:17 p.m. Sept. 14, officers responded to the 700 block of North Robert A. Stalls Avenue in reference to a report of gunshots fired.

Investigators determined a dispute among acquaintances led to the shooting incident. The investigation remains ongoing.
