Herrin man gets 4 years for 4th DUI

MARION -- Guy A. Phipps, 52, of Herrin, pleaded guilty to aggravated DUI, a Class 2 felony earlier this week in Williamson County Circuit Court, and was sentenced to four years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.

On Nov. 30, 2015, Phipps was arrested on charges of DUI following a traffic stop in Herrin. This was his fourth DUI offense. In addition to the prior DUIs, Phipps has prior convictions for theft, burglary, and driving on a suspended license.

Phipps will serve two years of mandatory supervised release following his release from prison.
