Brenda Lane of Harrisburg

Brenda Lane, 73, of Harrisburg, passed away at 1:54 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at Harrisburg Medical Center, surrounded by her family.

Brenda was born on Nov. 8, 1945, in Alton to the late John Clore and Dorothy (Gibbs) Clore Small. On June 6, 1987 she married Jim Lane and he survives in Harrisburg.

Brenda was a homemaker and a member of Liberty Baptist Church. She was a member of the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA). She loved her cat, Rambo, and she loved being at home. Brenda was a loving mother, wife, grandma and great grandma. She was deeply loved by Jim and will be dearly missed.

In addition to her husband, Brenda is survived by her son, Mark Adams of Harrisburg; sister, Ramona (Ron) Lawrence of Anna; stepdaughter, Linda (George) Hanks of Harrisburg; stepson, Jim Lane of St. Louis; stepson, Brad Lane of St. Louis; stepson, Matt (Shelby) Adams of Paducah, Kentucky; grandson Craig (Brett) Adams of Harrisburg; grandson, Sean (Brittany) Adams of Galatia; grandson, Jeremiah (Hannah) Hanks of Harrisburg; granddaughter, Mallory (Matt) Rose of Harrisburg; granddaughter, Sarah (Evan) Bernard of Ottawa; granddaughter, Summer Taylor of St. Louis; granddaughter, Madalene Lane of Belleville; granddaughter, Daphne (Kayli) Lane of San Diego; granddaughter Abagayle Lane of Belleville; great-grandchildren, Harley Quinn Adams, Graycee Adams, Griffin Adams, Finnlay Ann Adams, Fletcher Adams, Hadley Hanks and Hunter Hanks; and nephew, Roger (Stephanie) Williams of Jackson, Missouri.

In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by her special stepfather, Gene Small; daughter-in-law, Ginny Adams; daughter-in-law, Helen Lane; and stepson, Jason Lane.

Funeral services will begin at noon Friday, July 19, 2019 at Reed Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Ron Reed will officiate and burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to noon on Friday.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Liberty Baptist Church or the ASPCA.
