ONE STEP CLOSER: Illinois House passes SB 690

WILLIAMSON COUNTY – Hundreds of jobs could be on the way to southern Illinois as the Illinois House passed SB 690 this evening, 87-27.

That bill, which now goes to the Illinois Senate tomorrow for concurrence, includes a measure that would allow a gaming license for a land-based casino for Walker's Bluff.

Owner Cynde Bunch has tenaciously worked for that license for several years to allow for the construction of a top-tier destination resort that would include a water park, hotel, convention center, spa, and restaurants, as well as the casino.
