Shirley June Rose of Harrisburg

Shirley June Rose, 76, of Harrisburg, formerly of New Burnside, died at 7:47 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2018 at her residence.

Graveside services will be at noon Saturday, Nov. 17, 2018 at Simmons Cemetery near Creal Springs. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills. The Rev. Gary Simmons will officiate.

Shirley was born on June 4, 1942 in New Burnside, to the late Anderson Washington and Wilma Opal (Horn) Newbold.

Shirley married John G. Rose on Dec. 27, 1969 and he preceded in death on May 11, 2013.

She love to cook and go shopping. She was a loving mother and grandmother, enjoying her time with her family.

Shirley is survived by two sons, John (Michelle) Walker of Marion and Ricky (Shana) Walker of Central City, Kentucky; a daughter, Tonya Ham of Harrisburg; a sister, Dorothy Swafford of Murphysboro; eight grandchildren, Bryce, Ian, Justin, Mollie, Ryan, Emilie, Addyson and Wilson; and four great-grandchildren.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Rose; daughter, Carla Deaton and sister, Mary Jane Evans.
