VA CARE TOWN HALL: Vets invited to Herrin American Legion for discussion

HERRIN - Veterans who receive care through the Marion VA Hospital are invited to join a discussion about their experiences at a town hall meeting at the Herrin American Legion Monday.

The American Legion, the nation's largest veterans service organization, will hold the meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 19, at American Legion Post 645, 213 E. Madison St., Herrin.

The town hall event is one of about 12 that the Legion will conduct around the United States this year.

The American Legion hosts these events to hear feedback from veterans about the quality of health care they receive at their local VA facility.

Representatives from the American Legion Department of Illinois, the American Legion national headquarters in Washington, D.C., and representatives from VA and members of the Illinois congressional delegation will be in attendance.

Veterans who may not be able to attend the American Legion town hall meeting may leave comments about the Illinois VA Health Care System by submitting an email to IL.townhall@legion.org.

The mailbox is not staffed, and those submitting statements by email will not receive a response. Instead, emailed comments will be compiled to evaluate veterans' perceptions of the health care and services provided by the Illinois VA Health Care System.
