Change in traffic pattern for South McKinley Street

South McKinley Street near West Side School is going to be one way before and after school starting Monday, Oct. 22

Between Lincoln Street to Raymond Street, South McKinley will become one way southbound from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. This will be in force on school days only.

Harrisburg Police Chief David Morris said the change will make traffic flow around West Side School safer and more efficient before and after school. All other streets surrounding West Side School already are one-way during that time, Morris said, and now traffic will flow clockwise around the school.

Morris said the change was done cooperatively between the Harrisburg Police Department, the Harrisburg Street and Alley Department and Harrisburg Unit District 3.
