4-H sheep, dairy cattle show results

The Saline County 4-H Sheep Show was held on July 26 at the Sam Stafford Livestock Building on the Saline County Fairgrounds. Thanks to Lonny Reed and Brianna Johnson for serving as sheep superintendents and to Brad Horner for judging this show.

Senior Showmanship Grand Champion was Garrett Beers, with Briley Lenkaitis earning the Reserve Champion ribbon for Senior Showmanship. Junior Showmanship Grand Champion was Wyatt Arnold and Reserve Champion was Jude Beers.

Grand Champion Breeding Sheep and Overall Champion Breeding Sheep honors went to Wyatt Arnold. Reserve Champion Breeding Sheep and Overall Reserve Champion Breeding Sheep honors went to Garrett Beers.

Jude Beers earned Grand Champion Market Sheep and Overall Champion Market Sheep, and Briley Lenkaitis earned Reserve Champion Market Sheep and Overall Reserve Champion Market Sheep.

Overall Champions and Reserve Champions received banners with the species and class sponsored by Saline County Farm Bureau. Grand Champions also received brushes and wood plaques engraved by Tim Arnold.

Bred and Owned Champion, Wyatt Arnold, received a plaque and a gift certificate sponsored by Anderson Crop Insurance, Phil and Karen Anderson. Bred and Owned Reserve Champion, Briley Lenkaitis, received a plaque and a gift certificate sponsored by Ron and Carla Bradley. Congratulations to our Sheep exhibitors.

The 2018 4-H Dairy Cattle Show, held on July 26, was well attended this year and members showed their best to Judge Tim Spittler.

Thank you to Jane Carlile for serving as dairy cattle superintendent.

Dairy Cattle Showmanship Grand Champion was Briley Lenkaitis. Dairy Cattle Showmanship Reserve Champion was Devin Carlile. Briley Lenkaitis received the ribbon for both Grand Champion Breeding Dairy Cattle and the award banner, brush and plaque for Overall Grand Champion Breeding Dairy Cattle. Emma Carlile received ribbon for Reserve Champion Breeding Dairy Cattle and the award banner for Overall Reserve Champion Breeding Dairy Cattle.
