Red Hats for God gather at Dream Baskets

HARRISBURG - On Aug. 7, the Red Hats for God gathered at Dream Baskets in Harrisburg.

Most Royal Court Jester Roma Wilson gave the blessing and we enjoyed our delicious buffet of smothered pork chops, twice-baked potatoes, corn, salad and scrumptious strawberry tarts.

We played four games of bingo with Rhinestone Cowgirl Phyllis McDaniel, Lady On The Go Sharon Johnson, Lady Shopping Diva Delores Sharpin and Cinderella In Waiting Mary Smith all winning prizes. The blackout game was also won by Phyllis. Ruby Red Hat Queen of the Red Hat Mascots Beth Morse called the numbers for us.

Ruby always dresses comfortably and sometimes looses her fluffy pink house shoes. Rockin Robin-Robin Johnston won the prize for finding her house shoe for her.

The gathering was our "garden club" meeting with Rhinestone Cowgirl Phyllis McDaniel winning the prize for the prettiest outfit.

We gave Jenny Smith a Red Hat name at this meeting. She is Crafty Lassie. We will find a Red Hat name for our new member Peggy Brewer next month.

August was Roma's birthday month, so we all sang happy birthday to her.

Our next gathering will be at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 4 at O'Charley's in Marion.

Those in attendance not mentioned above were Betsy Evans, Shirley Harris, Carloyn Dunn, Elizabeth Rittenberry, Mollie Uselton, Mary Ann Rivera and Joan Wilson.
