You can still sign up for SIC's mini-semester classes

HARRISBURG - Though the spring semester has begun, there are still opportunities to take classes at Southeastern Illinois College. SIC's mini-semester courses offer classes for full credit over an eight-week period.

Mini-semester courses are available in a wide array of areas of study, and all classes are delivered online. Various subjects are available, such as Principles of Speaking, Music Appreciation, Preschool Administration, American Government and Interpersonal Communication. American government will begin on Feb. 2. However, most classes are scheduled to start on March 6.

The agenda includes online classes in both academic major and general education areas that could be attractive to traditional students who have the option to fit another course into their schedule or have a specific course they need to finish before graduation or transfer.

Many courses are available in Biofuels studies. These include Introduction to Biofuels, Agricultural Wastes to Biofuels, Biodiesel Production and Ethanol Production. CPR courses are available throughout the semester along with Illinois Concealed Carry classes. These one-time attendance classes are scheduled for several dates through the semester. A series of welding classes are available during an eight-week period. These classes begin on March 6.

Students currently enrolled at SIC may register for these classes through MySIC. Others who are interested can view a full listing of mini-semester courses, as well as registration contact information, at www.sic.edu/minisemester. For further information, call (618) 252-5400 ext. 2443.
