4-H uses $400 grant for Galatia community improvement projects

Farm Credit Illinois recently awarded a $400 community improvement grant to the Lads & Lassies 4-H Club of Saline County.

The club used the grant funds to complete projects in the village of Galatia. Members painted parking curbs at the library and also replaced boards and painted bleachers at both the park and school ball diamond.

Lads & Lassies 4-H Club was one of 50 4-H clubs and FFA chapters to receive a community improvement grant from Farm Credit Illinois in 2017.

A total of $20,000 in grant funds has been awarded to clubs and chapters, which are making tangible contributions in their communities by implementing improvement projects.
