Preceptor Alpha Eta holds meeting

Preceptor Alpha Eta held its May 10 meeting at the home of Joanna Tolbert.

Fifteen members enjoyed a salad supper prior to the meeting, and President Donna Secrets then called the meeting to order with roll being called by Secretary Judy Kaufman. Kaufman also read the minutes from the last meeting. Minutes were approved.

Secrets read thank yous from the Joyce Deaton family and John and Barb Croessman.

Rose Alongi gave the treasury report.

Communication was next on the agenda.

Sharon Childs announced that Du Quoin Tourism will be having summer concerts in the park.

Program of the year winner was Sharon Childs. She presented a program on ways to use coconut oil to better your life.

Barbara Brock presented the Shelley House memorial scholarship at Du Quoin High School District 300 Foundation.

Installation of officers for 2017-2018 followed. New leaders are President Kathy Smith, Vice President Joyce Schimpf, Treasurer Linda Sherman and Secretary Mary Riggio.

Beginning day for the new year will be Aug. 9.

Closing ritual then was recited by Rose Alongi, Barbara Brock, Sharon Childs, Nora Fann, Toni Haner, Judy Kaufman, April Kremer, Pricilla Craig, Mary Riggio, Joyce Schimpf, Linda Searby, Donna Secrets, Linda Sherman, Kathy Smith and Johanna Tolbert.
