RIDGWAY – Individuals with broken electronics to be disposed may do so Saturday, May 27 at the village of Ridgway's Water Department parking lot at 1008 W. Main St. from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The event is open to the public.

Because electronic devices are no longer permitted in landfills, recycling is one method of disposing of those items.

A recycler will be present and will collect any broken or unwanted electronic devices.

There is a small fee for recycling. Console and big-screen TVs are $10. Small-screen TVs, computer monitors and small flat-screen TVs are $5. The village of Ridgway's Facebook page has information on additional items.

Due to recycling costs, some items no longer may be recycled for free. Vacuums, microwaves, printers and copiers now cost $1 to be recycled. The recycler also will accept used motor oil and batteries of all sizes for free.

Paint will be accepted for $1 per container. Tires will not be accepted.
