Carrier Mills hosts electronics recycling

<p style="margin-bottom: 0in;" align="LEFT"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="font-size: medium;">CARRIER MILLS &#8211; Individuals with broken electronic devices may dispose of them Saturday at the Carrier Mills Municipal Building parking lot, 101 N. Mill St.</span></span>

<p style="margin-bottom: 0in;" align="LEFT"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="font-size: medium;">The event, open to the public, will be 9 a.m. to noon Saturday. An additional electronics recycling day will be May 13.</span></span>

<p style="margin-bottom: 0in;" align="LEFT"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="font-size: medium;">Electronic devices no longer are permitted in landfills. Instead, those devices must be recycled.</span></span>

<p style="margin-bottom: 0in;" align="LEFT"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="font-size: medium;">On Saturday, a recycler will be present and will collect any broken or unwanted electronic devices.</span></span>

<p style="margin-bottom: 0in;" align="LEFT"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="font-size: medium;">A small fee is associated with recycling electronic devices. Console TVs and big-screen TVs are $10. Small-screen TVs, computer monitors and small flat-screens all cost $5 to be recycled.</span></span>

<p style="margin-bottom: 0in;" align="LEFT"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="font-size: medium;">Due to recycling costs, the following items are no longer accepted for free: Vacuums,</span></span>

<p style="margin-bottom: 0in;" align="LEFT"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="font-size: medium;">microwaves, printers and copiers now cost a $1 to be recycled.</span></span>

<p style="margin-bottom: 0in;" align="LEFT"><span style="font-family: Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="font-size: medium;">In addition, the recycler will also accept used motor oil and batteries of all sizes for free. Paint</span></span>
