Galatia man injured, ticketed after ATV wreck

SALINE COUNTY – Illinois State Police ticketed a Galatia man after the man wrecked his all-terrain vehicle Friday in rural Saline County.

Dalton R. Grubbs, 20, was driving a white Polaris RZR southwest on Horshoe Road about one-quarter of a mile east of Rocky Branch Road southeast of Harrisburg when he failed to negotiate a curve in the road, according to an ISP news release.

The Polaris left the roadway to the south and struck a ditch before overturning, according to the report.

Grubbs was taken by helicopter to an area hospital for treatment of injuries he received in the crash.

ISP District 19, which responded to and handled the crash scene, was assisted by Saline County Ambulance Service.

ISP cited Grubbs for careless operation of an ATV and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. The crash remains under investigation.
