Lucy V. McConnell

HARRISBURG -- Lucy V. McConnell, 91, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2016, in Harrisburg Medical Center.

Lucy was born April 2, 1925, in Wasson to the late Ernest and Grace (Bramlet) Read.

She married Raymond Earl McConnell, who preceded her in death Nov. 3, 2001.

Lucy was a schoolteacher, who taught at Texas City and later at the Raleigh schools.

She was an educator, but her true love in life was being a farmer's wife and homemaker. She had a passion for quilting.

Lucy was the longest living member of Union Grove Baptist Church and a member of Daughters of the American Revolution.

Survivors include her daughter, Ann (Victor) Frost of Harrisburg; four grandchildren, Jonathan (Megan) Frost of Nashville, Tennessee, Emily Frost of Harrisburg, Lisa (Clint) Prather of Norris City and Nathan Feazel of Harrisburg; and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was recently preceded in death by her daughter, Ora Rae Feazel.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, in Colonial Terrace Funeral Home in Eldorado with the Rev. Mike Weaver officiating. Burial will be in Wolf Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
