Kenneth C. "Kenny" Nolen

HARRISBURG - Kenneth C. "Kenny" Nolen, 82, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2016, in St. Vincent's Hospital in Indianapolis.

He was born April 21, 1934, in Harrisburg to Kenneth "K.C." and Charlotte S. (Smith) Nolen. He married Sylvia Gulley on Sept. 1, 1956, and she preceded him in death Nov. 19, 2013.

Kenny retired from GTE and Verizon after 40 years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran with the 101st Airborne Division out of Fort Bragg, and a former member of the American Legion and Shawnee Hills Country Club.

He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fans and loved woodworking and painting.

Survivors include a son, Kenny and wife Connie Nolen of Harrisburg; four grandchildren, Adam Nolen and wife Hannah of Evansville, Indiana, Kaci Nolen and Billy Robertson of Calvert City, Kentucky, Mark Thomas and wife Ashley of Evansville, Indiana, and Nolen Thomas and Angela Vargas of Lafayette, Indiana; great-grandchildren, Liam Nolen and Dayton Thomas, both of Evansville, Indiana; two sisters, Joy Pyle, and Linda and husband George Henley; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sylvia; daughter, Gina Thomas; sister, Judy Vinyard; and brother, Jack Nolen.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, in Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg with Brad Vinyard officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Lawn Cemetery in Harrisburg. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
