Fred R. Carrier

CARRIER MILLS - Fred R. Carrier, 78, died at 5:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 21, 2016, at his residence.

There are no services scheduled at this time. His wishes were to be cremated.

He was born June 22, 1938, in Harrisburg to Kenneth Carrier and Lillian (Jenkins) Carrier Holland. He married the former Sharon Jackson on Oct, 31, 1986.

Mr. Carrier served in the U.S. Air Force for six years.

He worked as a security guard in Elgin for many years. He also served as a police officer in Harrisburg and Carrier Mills before going to work at Brushy Creek Coal, where he retired.

Survivors include his loving wife of 30 years, Sharon Carrier of Carrier Mills; son, Fredrick Carrier of Castle Rock, Washington; daughter, Patty Carrier of Columbus, Ohio; two sisters, Roberta Wallace of Eldorado and Linda (Bill) Staley of Carrier Mills; three brothers, Terry (Cheryl) Carrier of Harrisburg, Kenneth (Sukin) Carrier of Harrisburg and Joseph R. Carrier of Carrier Mills; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Ferris Carrier and Mike Holland.

Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills is in charge of arrangements.
