Velma L. Daniels

Velma L. Daniels, 83, of Eldorado, passed away in Effingham on August 16, 2016.

She was born in Champaign on June 14, 1933 to the late Otto and Lottie (Smith) Willis. She worked as a cashier at Food Center in Eldorado for many years. She was a member of the United Food and Commercial Workers Union and a member of the Eldorado Gospel Assembly Church.

On April 11, 1958 she married Charles Daniels and he preceded her in death on April 23, 2004. Velma is survived by her children: Carla (Tom) Ross of Akron, OH and Lindy (Tari) Daniels of Mt. Vernon, IL. She is also survived by 3 grandchildren: Jessica, Jonathan and Jason. Also surviving are 2 brothers: Aden Willis of Anderson, IN and Herman Willis of Effingham, 2 sisters: Rosie Burgess of Edgewood and Phyllis Danks of Mason. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceeded in death by 2 brothers: Richard and Dillard Willis and 2 sisters: Marzella Peterson and Genelle Tucker.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 10:30 AM at the Eldorado Gospel Assembly Church with Rev. L D Jolly officiating. Burial will be in Lindale Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday, August 19, 2016 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Watson Funeral Home in Eldorado.
