Dorothy Jean (Buchanan) Meyers, age 74, a resident of Griffin, GA, passed away at 5:32 pm on Sunday, June 19th, 2016 at her home.

Dorothy Jean (Buchanan) Meyers was born on March 24th, 1942 in Mt. Vernon, IL the daughter of Harry Buchanan & Nellie (Browder) Buchanan, who both preceded her in death.

She was a homemaker and a member of the West Sunnyside Congregational Church in Griffin, GA.

She is survived by her husband Darrell Meyers, 2 daughters: Charlotte Thigpen, and Daria (husband Thomas) Carson, 7 grandchildren: Brandon (wife Kristi) Thigpen, Brittany Thigpen, Bradley Thigpen, Allen Edgar, Ashley (husband Mike) O'Kelly, Molly Edgar, and James Carson; 7 great grandchildren: Spencer, Blake, Caden, Bryson, Marcus, Kylie, and Logan; 3 brothers: Harry (wife JoAnn) Buchanan, Jimmy (wife Linda) Buchanan, and Terry (wife Mary Jo) Buchanan; 4 sisters: Marie Craig, Erma Braddock, Tammy (husband Brian) LeCrone, and Pam (husband Jeff) Ellis; 12 nieces & nephews, and several great nieces and great nephews.

Funeral services for Dorothy Jean (Buchanan) Meyers will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 23rd, 2016 at the Archie L. Sanders Memorial Chapel in Wayne City, IL with Rev. Terry Buchanan officiating.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am at the Archie L. Sanders Memorial Chapel.

Burial will be at the Thomason Cemetery in Wayne City, IL.
