Barbara Ann Oxford

Barbara Ann Oxford, 78, of Harrisburg, passed away at 3:00 AM, Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Harrisburg Medical Center.

Barbara was born on July 20, 1937 in Chicago to the late James Alfred and Una Sylvalena (Hatcher) Wasson. On May 29, 1954 she married Paul Oxford and he survives. Barbara was a retired lab technician for the University of Illinois at Dixon Springs. She was a member of Bethesda Baptist Church, the Amaranth of Centralia, and the Muddy T's.

Surviving family members include her husband: Paul Oxford of Harrisburg; daughter: Diana (Sid) Roberson of Harrisburg; daughter: Mary (Walter) Siemsglusz of Belleville, IL; daughter: Cheryl Oxford Hunter of Harrisburg; son: Robert "Bo" (Pamela) Oxford of Harrisburg; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brother: Roy Dale (Joann) Wasson of Herod; sister: Janeine (Kenneth) Mitchell of Harrisburg.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, James Anson Wasson and infant daughter, Victoria Lynn Oxford.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. Rev. Barry Bascom and Rev. Arthur Austin Jr. will officiate. Burial will follow in Rutherford Cemetery in Hardin County. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 PM, Monday, May 2, 2016 at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Children. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
