ISP ready for Super Bowl weekend.

Super Bowl 50 is just around the corner, home parties, night out with friends, and beer and snacks are on everyones minds, especially when it comes to those fantastic commercials.

The Illinois State police officials are gearing up for a busy weekend and have unveiled enforcement plans for Super Bowl 50 weekend. Troopers will strictly enforce moving violation with an emphasis on "FATAL-4" violations. Those include DUIs, distracted driving and seat belts.

"DUIs are responsible for nearly one-third of all fatal crashes in Illinois. A single DUI can cost thousands of dollars, suspension of driving privileges, potential jail time, or word, cause the death of another motorist," said Col. Tad Williams of the Illinois State Police.

The State police are urging motorists to make this Super Bowl Sunday one to remember, not one to regret. Help keep the roads safe by planning ahead and designating a driver.

"Plan ahead to arrive home safe this weekend by designating a driver or catching a cab. Everyone wins when we all make it home safe," Williams said.
