Bulldogs fall in season finale to Benton

Benton spoiled Harrisburg's senior night in girl's prep basketball with a 47-35 win over the Lady Bulldogs Thursday night at Davenport Gym.

Harrisburg got as close as four in the fourth quarter, but closed the regular season at 8-19 and 2-8 in the SIRR-Ohio.

Sophomore Ashley Ferrell led the team with 18 points. Shelby Boer had eight, and the lone senior, Lexi Griffin, added four.

Lindsey Murray played limited minutes because of back problems and Whitney Younger is out the rest of the year with a concussion. She is Harrisburg's first guard off the bench.

The Lady Bulldogs open post season play Monday night at 8:10 opposite Fairfield in the Eldorado 2A regional.

The last time the two team's played, Fairfield won by five points in overtime at the Lady Eagle Winter Classic.
