Arrgggh, matey: SIC's annual Kid's Fair is pirate-themed

Southeastern Illinois College held its annual Kid's Fair in Deaton Gymnasium on April 17.

This free event, made possible through a community partnership with Egyptian Health Department, Legence Bank, Harrisburg Medical Center, Wabash Area Development Inc (WADI) Head Start and the Harrisburg District Library, hosted children through fifth grade.

This year's fair was pirate-themed, and a pirate ship photo backdrop was created by SIC Art and Theater Clubs. The SIC Nursing Department also hosted a "pirate training area."

The yearly fair is designed to help promote reading, education, health, nutrition and safety in a fun manner.
