Matters of Faith: Jesus remains the most influential person in world history

Who are the top 10 most influential people in history? It may depend on which list you look at, but in the general population over world history these names keep showing up; Alexander the Great, Isaac Newton, Napolean, Guatama Buddah, Abraham Lincoln, Aristotle, Galileo, Muhammed, Albert Einstein and usually at the #1 spot is Jesus Christ.

If you don't agree with that, then look at who has the most books written about them in the course of history, again it is Jesus Christ.

If you look at the book that is the most copied, purchased and most translated there are none that are even close to the life of Jesus found in the New Testament.

The life of Jesus found in the New Testament as of October 2017 has been translated into 1,521 languages worldwide. Bible stories and other portions of scripture have been translated into an additional 1,121 other languages. So all total according to Wycliffe Global Alliance there are portions or chapters of God's Word available in 3,312 languages worldwide. " Faith comes by hearing, hearing the word of God." Romans 10:17.

In the last 50 years, there have been 3.9 billion copies of the Bible sold, 100 million are sold or given away each year. According to Statistics Brain, with numbers provided by The Gideons there have been over 6 billion copies of the Bible printed.

Nearly one copy for every person on the planet. So why is Jesus considered the most influential person in history? Why has the life of Jesus been translated into over 3,000 languages?

Because Jesus changes people's lives for the better. Jesus has been setting people free from a life of selfishness, sickness, and self-destruction.
