Pinckneyville firefighters host annual fish fry

The Pinckneyville Volunteer Fireman's Association hosted its annual Good Friday fish fry fundraiser, and Fire Chief Jim Gielow said residents continue to turn out for the event and that the firefighters appreciate the community support.

Approximately 40 volunteers who help with the dinner include firefighters, auxiliary members (wives and girlfriends), the Columbian Club kitchen staff, Girl Scouts from local troops, PCHS students earning volunteer service hours to fulfill school requirement, and community leaders.

Money raised helps to buy equipment and uniforms, plus supplies for Fire Prevention Week activities put on for schoolchildren.
