Du Quoin Garden Club celebrating 60th anniversary

The Du Quoin Garden Club of District VII Garden Clubs of Illinois conducted business during the March 27 meeting at Twisted Pair Lodging.

President Jean Bullock called the meeting to order and since the club is celebrating its 60th year, she read a 60th anniversary minute.

"The Du Quoin Garden Club was organized in 1958, sponsored by the Benton Garden Club of Benton, Illinois, 25 charter members."

She will be reading an anniversary minute at each meeting this year. Nineteen members answered roll call with the question, "Do you have ramps growing in your garden?"

The minutes were read and corrected. The Treasurer's report was given. Correspondence was received from Kristina Anheuser, who sent a $50 donation for the Telvi Memorial in honor of Telvi's 75th birthday.
