Eggs-tra fun: Easter egg hunt at West Side Primary

HARRISBURG - Despite cool temperatures and brisk winds, West Side Primary pupils searched high and low for Easter eggs Tuesday morning on the lawn of Saline Care Center.

The children cheered and "bunny-hopped" as the Easter Bunny made an appearance, giving hugs and high-fives.

The nursing home's spacious lawn provides a great location for an Easter egg hunt, according to Activity Director Tammy Smith.

"We've done this for at least the last four years," Smith said. "We love it when the kids can come out here and look for Easter eggs."

Smith said SCC enjoys being a part of the community for events like the egg hunt.

Smith, who doubled as the Easter Bunny, worked with longtime SCC employees Janice Oldham and Debbie Draper to make the event a fun one for the children.

Oldham said both SCC employees and residents who observe enjoy the Easter egg hunt.

"It's a blessing for everyone," Oldham said.
