Country Friends HEA will have a lesson on vertigo in August

Dr. Noah Stearns, DPT, from Joyner Therapy Services in Harrisburg, will present a program on vertigo at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15, at the U of I Extension office, 912 S. Commercial St., in Harrisburg. That and other business was discussed at the June 6 meeting of the Saline County HEA Unit of Country Friends Homemakers.

Vertigo can cause a person to have nausea, a fear of falling, or to be reluctant to go out in public because these symptoms. Town and Country Homemakers Unit is hostess for the event. Those who want to attend should call Jody Moore at (618) 518-1518.

Colleen Alvey, vice chairman, called the meeting to order and then led the members in the Homemakers Creed.

Sharon Tanner reviewed the May newsletter. She reminded members of upcoming lessons, including the one of vertigo. The public is invited to these free lessons; however, those who wish to attend should contact the hostess for the event.

Country Friends HEA purchased luminaria for deceased members and loved ones at the Cancer Society's June 9 Relay For Life.

Homemakers are collecting plastic lids and bottle caps to support efforts by Eldorado Women's Club to make park benches for the Eldorado walking path.

Hostesses Kathy Morris and Tanner served an Italian meal.

The July unit meeting of Country Friends will be at noon Saturday, July 8, at Judy's Picnic Basket At Karel Park in Eldorado.
