Volunteers from CASA of Franklin County joined television star Donna Douglas, who played Elly May Clampett on “The Beverly Hillbillies” television show.
Douglas was at the Exhibition Hall at the Du Quoin State Fair to judge CASA’s “Critter Contest,” held as a promotional event and fundraiser on Saturday.
Top finishers included Tari Terry, winner; Jeanie Null, second place; and Kerrie Smith, third place.
Douglas stayed and signed autographs for fans with her good friend, Lulu Roman from the hit TV show, “Hee Haw.”
Douglas, a devoted Christian and a writer, now makes many public appearances around the country speaking to church groups and singing gospel, and addressing one of her main missions, the support of various Christian children’s homes.
