Eaglefest coming Saturday at Costello Lock & Dam

KASKASKIA RIVER PROJECT - The 2020 Eagle Fest event will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 1 at the Jerry F. Costello Lock & Dam (4800 Lock and Dam Road) in Modoc, rain or shine.

Join us for eagle-watching and meet some of our feathered friends from the World Bird Sanctuary at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. and the Edible Animal presentation given by Animology at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Tours of the lock and dam will also be available. Local food trucks will be on site for breakfast and lunch. Parking will be in the upstream day use area with trams available to take in the activities available throughout the project.

The event is free to all - leash-trained dogs are welcome on the hike.

The partners in this event are the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Illinois Department of Natural Resources, Randolph County Economic Development, Lower Kaskaskia Stakeholders Inc., Randolph County, Chester Tourism, North County Savings Bank, Evansville Booster Club, Horse Prairie Mutual/FarMutual, CLIFFTOP, Kaskaskia Valley Audubon Society, Prairie Du Rocher Chamber of Commerce, Gateway FS, Kaskaskia Regional Port District, Knights of Columbus Council 1952 and Chris and Stephanie Martin.
