DU QUOIN -- After a successful first year in 2017, the Du Quoin Chamber of Commerce will hold a second Farm to Table Dinner on Thursday, July 12.
The event, which is sponsored by the Perry County Farm Bureau and Marshall Browning Hospital, gets underway at 6:30 p.m.
The evening will feature an elegant multicourse farm dinner experience, with a seasonal menu that showcases farm-fresh produce and locally raised meat products -- sourced just minutes from where they will be enjoyed on Main Street in downtown Du Quoin.
The evening starts with a social hour, and the dinner will be served at 7:30 p.m.
Dinner will be prepared by cooks and chefs from several different local restaurants and bakeries. Soft drinks will be provided and a cash bar with wine and beer will also be available.
The chamber is seeking sponsorships to help offset the costs of the dinner and to help in future promotions of our town and our local businesses. Differing levels of sponsorship are available.
• Menu Sponsorship: $250 (includes two tickets). The business name will be listed on menus, which are provided to every attendee.
• Table Sponsorship: $150. The business name will be listed on the menus.
Contact the chamber office at (618) 542-9570 for details on how you and your business can be a part of this exciting event.
The chamber leadership likes the Farm to Table gala as a way to bring the community together and show off Du Quoin's beautiful downtown.
The dinner also proudly promotes local farmers and growers, and highlights everything that is available right here in the Du Quoin area through the farmers market, as well as the businesses and restaurants.
Dinner music will be provided by Sarah Lannom. More live music will follow dinner, concluding around 10 p.m.
Tickets for the event are $30. Buy them starting June 1 at three locations: the Du Quoin Chamber office; St. Nicholas Brewing Company and WDQN radio station.
