'Cabaret' coming to Marion Cultural and Civic Center

MARION - Skyline Creek Productions will present the classic musical "Cabaret" later this month at the Marion Cultural and Civic Center.

Performance dates are April 27-29. Show times are 7 p.m. on the first two dates and 2 p.m. for the final date.

"This is a wonderful production that has not been done in Southern Illinois for years and never before at the civic center," said Barb Segretario, spokeswoman for Skyline Creek Productions.

Tickets, on sale now at the civic center box office (618-997-4030), are $15 for general admission or $25 for special "onstage seating," where patrons become part of the show.

Tickets may also be purchased online at www.marionccc.com.

They will remain on sale at the door one hour prior to each performance.

Segretario noted that the show deals with mature subject matter and may not be suitable for children.

"We are excited about this show, especially in these times," Segretario said. "It seems like art is imitating life with the ability to relate with the characters in the musical, even though it is set in Pre-World War II 1930s."
