After several weeks of reveals, the five members of the inaugural 2017 class of the Randolph Society will be honored at a reception on Tuesday at the Randolph County Courthouse.

This year's honorees were African-American speaker, writer and public servant John Willis Menard; aviation pioneers the Hunter brothers (Albert, John, Kenneth, and Walter); actress Nora Lane; mining and land reclamation pioneer William E. Mullins, Jr. and World War II chaplain the Rev. Henry F. Gerecke.

Biographies of all five have been printed in recent editions of the Herald Tribune and Steeleville Ledger. Extended biographies of the honorees can be found at www.randolphsociety.org.

The reception, which will begin at 6:30 p.m., is expected to last about an hour and will include speakers talking about the honorees' accomplishments. Plaques featuring all five will also be unveiled during the ceremony.

The reception is open to the public and all are invited to attend.
