S. Alma Jackson

</element><element id="paragraph-1" type="body"><![CDATA[ S. Alma Jackson, 80, of Du Quoin, passed away at 3:58 p.m. onThursday, March 6, 2008, at Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin.

Alma was a homemaker. She had also worked at P.R. Mallory and at Pierce and Son Chrysler Motor. She was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Du Quoin.

She was born Jan. 12, 1928 at Cave-In-Rock, the daughter of Orval and Kathryn (Burklow) Lampert.

She married Kenneth R. Jackson on Nov. 7, 1944 at Elizabethtown, and he preceded her in death on May 21, 2004.

She is survived by two sons, Charles A. Jackson of Du Quoin and Don K. Jackson of Danville, Ky.; two sisters, Melva Morgan and husband Silas of Du Quoin and Margaretta Starwalt and husband Glenn of Westville; three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and special nephews Brad Morgan and Heath Morgan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one brother, Wendell Lampert.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Sunday, March 9, at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. Silas Morgan officiating.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday at Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.

Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.
